How long has it been since the Ruins?

A...week? Don't tell me it's been a constant since then...

Oh... no, not all the time. Mostly at night. The... nightmares have gotten worse. Or I've gotten worse at ignoring them.

[Yuuna's angry expression shifts to genuine concern and she steps forward, enveloping Merrill in her arms.]

Maybe it's because you evolved and got stronger. That's horrid. [And then a thought comes to her.]

Though, they're dreams, right?

It must be. His soul and mine are linked, after all.

[Don't mind her as she shamelessly cuddles her face into Yuuna's shoulder.]

Yes... only dreams. They're just quite vivid.

[The cuddling is not minded at all, one hand even goes up into Merrill's hair, stroking it softly.]

Then I may have a way to fix at least that problem.

[She leans her head against the side of Merrill's]

If you're not too terribly attached to sleeping alone. Or your apartment.

[Yes, it's a hovel. And yes she's being obtuse on purpose.]

[The gears are grinding as she works her way through the colloquialism.]

[A smile, and she pulls back to look Merrill more directly in the eye.]

I want you to move in with me. I have space for two here, and my bed's pretty big.

[A pause, and she seriouses up.]

And Kintsu can help you with Eluvian's bad dreams.

[The spiral in her left eye starts whirling as Merrill blushes deeply, looking straight back into Yuuna's eyes.]

Oh... well, it is very nice here. And warm. And much bigger. If you're sure you have room, and you and your Pokemon wouldn't mind, then...

[Merrill, you're babbling again.]

[Not even a little bit weird, Merrill, your eye is actually kinda cute.]

I wouldn't offer if I didn't have room. And I talked it over with them recently, the idea of you being around a lot more. They'd be glad to have you.

[Hoyo and Kyo's reactions were, actually, more overjoyed. More people around to hug and be affectionate with? Yes please. And Kintsu seemed delighted at the prospect.]

[She waits for an answer, but her lips hover close, fully ready to kiss her one way or the other.]

[Merrill is bad at words, but increasingly comfortable with kissing. So have an enthusiastic kiss-nod as she throws her arms around your shoulders, Yuuna.]

[Bad at words is fine, especially when there's kissing involved. Yuuna kisses back with much, much enthusiasm, deepening it a bit by pushing forward and tightening her hold on Merrill.

Yes, this seemed like an ideal sort of arrangement. Eluvian would feed Kintsu, Merrill would get to sleep, and Yuuna? Well...she'd just have to make due with kisses and cuddles, wouldn't she?]

I... should get my things, shouldn't I? And tell someone that I'm moving out. Who do I tell? I don't remember if I told anyone I was moving in. Oh, there's so much to think about...

I'll help you, if you want to start now. [She punctuates that with a kiss on the cheek.] As for the details, well...whoever's in charge of your building, the manager. Which I can take care of, if you like. [Another kiss.] All you need to think about is where your things are, and how much you're going to love it here.

Those... are much easier things to think about, yes.

[She's so far out of her depth here, but smiling anyway.]

Exactly, dear. So that’s what I want you to focus on. Let me handle the little details with Union law. It won’t be a problem for me, I’ve done all this before.

[she hasn’t, but Merrill doesn’t need to know that. Her dad will take care of it.]

[And she's given to extreme bouts of kindness pretty much all the time anyway.]

There's still so much I have to learn about life outside the clan.

You'll get there. I'm here to help, after all. And it's not like I don't rely on your help too. I'm still learning how to deal with Pokemon. And how to...have be responsible. You're really helping me be a better person, too.

[Really. Yuuna could have gone two ways, and the other would probably have ended with her being perpetually unreliable. Merrill has done her fair share of pushing Yuuna away from that path, so she hasn't ended up a vagrant troublemaker like Isabela. Not...that she doesn't care about her friend, but that's not a life for everyone.]

[What with unsealing an ancient evil and endangering her clan and all.]

You're good to your Pokemon. And you're good on your commitments. Even if they're hard. You know I used to be incredibly bad about doing anything that wasn't fun, right?

[A bitter laugh.]

You own up to your mistakes. I didn't, till now. Because it isn't all just about me. And having people like you in my life helps remind me of that.

[She can't just run around like a hooligan anymore. She's got a good heart, but she needs reasons to notice things and things to care about. People and Pokemon.]

So don't think you're not doing something for me, okay?

[It's flattering. Even more flattering than compliments on her appearance or any sort of flirting Yuuna could come up with. In her eyes, Merrill is a much better person than she'd ever thought herself to be.]

You're really selfless. I admire that. Hell the way you helped me out of my nightmare...I won't forget that. You make me feel wanted, y'know.

[She laughs again, less bitter and more actual laughter.]

I'm just glad to have someone like you in my life. You are good to me too, just in a different way. The fact that you're cute doesn't hurt, either...

[Because she can't let herself get too mushy.]

If I don't deserve nightmares every night, then neither do you.

[She is very firm on that point.]

If you think lanky, clumsy, and weird tattoos are cute.

[Merrill's half joking here, evidenced by her small smile as she looks back at Yuuna.]
