[Maybe a little bit. Trainer's working with another Pokemon, and they come here often enough because of this one Jigglypuff that seems to enjoy trying to get the best of her.]
[This Politoed it's so cute! Kotori would have probably taken it home if it did not have a trainer. This is also a good way to get extra pokepuffs by the way.]
Eh? Your trainer comes often too?
[How come she never meets anyone on the way to the flower grove then?]
[Not too often, but maybe once or twice a week. She's got that game with the Jigglypuff, after all!]
[There's an avian cry, almost like a shriek, and it's not terribly far away. Politoed turns, still nibbling on a snack, seemingly totally unconcerned.]
Politoed, Toe!
[Looks like Howashi found them. Which means Renraku and the others must be done with the Jigglypuff.]
[A deep rivalry with a Jigglypuff, eh? that's something Kotori has issues imagining. Adorable pink pokemon can't be aggressive, right? distracted by that innocent train of thought as she is that loud shriek startles Kotori quite clearly.]
T-that's your trainer?
[Her image of this mysterious person turns closer to a gruff bloodthirsty fighter.]
[Politoed laughs, a hearty, squawking, amused sound that bubbles up in his throat.
No silly, that's Howashi! That's just her Braviary!]
[Kotori doesn't need to wait long to solve this mystery though. A moment later there's a rush of air and the beating of wings heralding the arrival of the aforementioned warrior eagle. The big flying type lands a respectful pace from the human, sharp eyes studying her, and the 'gruff bloodthirsty fighter' enters the clearing alongside a Porygon, Hitmonchan, and Ralts. And to call her anything of the sort is probably the most ridiculous sort of dissonance one could imagine.
Yuuna Sugasawa is a little above average height for a woman, with short cut hair a shade lighter than black and a shade darker than true brown. She's in a white gi, the sort worn by martial artists and traveling monks, complete with extra winter padding and a Ranger insignia stitched onto the arm. The only warrior-like qualities to her are her eyes, intense but not unkind, and the straight-bladed sword belted at her waist.
She looks from Kotori to the Politoed with a smile.]
I see you've found a new source of snacks, huh, Uzu? [To the girl:]
[J-just a Braviary, excellent. While it was a dumb mistake to make and thus embarrassing she can't help but also be relieved.]
[Well, her lime of thought was certainly on the wrong track, for the fighter in front of her is not only female but also quite normal looking even. It's clear that she is well built from training but the sense of femininity from a young girl isn't gone from her at all and her smile gives her a friendly and trustworthy air.
Kotori blinks, needing a moment to reply to her. It's really not what she expected after all!]
[Yuuna fights back the urge to chuckle, because clearly something about her appearance had been startling. It was probably the gigantic eagle, she figures, so she steps over to the Braviary and rubs his head. Now, this whole time, the big bird had been looking Kotori up and down. She was dressed...appropriately...at least, which is more than he could say for most young women these days. Winter clothes, legs covered presumably...so his conservative instincts didn't go into moral-police mode.]
Hope Uzushio wasn't bothering you. He gets bored with training pretty easily unless it's near the sea or the lake, and I'm not super keen on going down there with as cold as the flight is this time of year.
[Kotori is a proper girl, sir eagle! She may like frills and dressing up but normally she dresses appropriately like a proper young maiden however the outfits idols wear on stage may scandalize the Braviary a bit. The girl simply smiles at the fellow bird, hoping that his intense gaze doesn't mean anything bad.]
Not at all, he behaved very well.
[Most pokemon do when they get food out of it.]
The lake... I would worry about his health if he went close to it at this time of the year, honestly. Even water types avoid the coldest waters.
Mh? Hehe, yes, I was on my way to the Flower grove for a picnic with my pokemon.
[Some of the many gathered ones are hers but the sheer number makes it hard to say which ones.]
[She is just here to be adorable and harmless like a newborn Torchic.]
Basically, yes. I come here with lots of pokepuffs a few times a week.
[Which is why all the wild pokemon at the Flower grove gather around her the moment she steps inside.
The Porygon's dedicated look is hard to ignore now! Kotori looks in it's direction with cautious curiosity. While she heard about their existence this would be her first time seeing a real Porygon, too.]
Nico to meet you too, Yuuna. It was really nothing, he is very friendly.
[Yuuna can't help but notice what Porygon's doing and she looks from the girl to the crystalline bird with interest. He usually only reacted this way around Enlightened and Pokemon, thanks to his Download ability. So...it stood to reason she was probably Enlightened in some way.]
You come out here but aren't a trainer? Well, you've had to have done a bit, or you're one of those Enlightened that can talk to Pokemon. There are aggressive ones here, too, after all.
[See: The antagonistic Jigglypuff. Maybe one day, Yuuna will convince her to bond, but today wasn't that day. Her Hitmonchan has a bruise to show for the attempt, too. Not that Yuuna'd really wanted to hurt the puffball.]
['Enlightened', eh? she knows the term well and the fact that she is one of them but this may be the very first time she hears somebody with Union mention it. There are so many of them around that nowadays it feels normal to assume most people are.]
A bit of both. I train my pokemon a bit it's just that I'm not really good at it... yet I am an Enlightened like you say. I'm a Swablu shifter.
[That Jigglypuff would break Kotori's heart if she met it. So cute and so unfriendly.]
Um... Porygon, can I ask what you are doing?
[The pokemon is not stopping and it's beginning to make her nervous.]
[Yuuna swats Porygon's head a bit interrupting it's Download.]
That explains Renraku then. It Downloads data on every Pokemon or Enlightened it meets. I think it's wired to do that. And since you're a Pokemon, that's why. It's harmless, it just tells it a bit about how you, well...fight.
[Shrugging, she picks up her crystal bird.]
Not that I'm going to let it attack or anything. It...well, it's actually kind of passive, aside from that. goes with being a machine I guess.
[Fight? Her? that should have been a short download but then again she does have lots of moves now. This pokepuff chef is a respectable Swablu by now.
All said the concept of the Porygon automatically registering information about Pokemon and Enlightened without depending on any outside sources or databases is very intriguing. Kotori nods at her explanation and steps closer. Her right hand slowly reaches for Renraku.]
I believe you wouldn't attack me without warning.
[Trusting as expected.]
But... is he truly a machine? He is pointy but doesn't seem that mechanic.
[Renraku beeps out a mechanical series of sounds, chirps and whistles mostly, but it doesn’t move. She’s no real threat, that much is obvious. A threat would’ve gotten a beam of some sort to the face.]
It is. I’m not sure it even has a gender, but it’s definitely a machine. It has an opening for discs, like in the days before the war. And it claims to be one, so I see no reason to question that much.
[An opening for disks? while the brunette isn't particularly interested in technology (she struggled a lot with the Warp band) the concept of Porygon being complete machine with even those old fashioned details if truly interesting. She lets out an 'oooh!' sound, open like a book.]
[Yuuna, for all her talents, is hardly an expert with machines or technology either. Nor is she half the Pokepuff chef as the brunette, as Politoed will tell her later. Renraku, though, beeps and nods it's head.]
It's surprisingly affectionate for a machine. Though, hey, you're a shifter, right? You can talk to Pokemon, yeah?
[Cooking can be learned, do not despair! Or, in this case, do not bully a too honest Politoed.]
Looks like it! Even if it's a machine it's also a pokemon after all, right?
[With warm hands Kotori proceeds to pet the friendly Porygon's head, that cold surface expected from a machine. The contact is certainly different from any other pokemon she has ever touched yet that by itself makes this an special occasion.]
[ The fact that Renraku warms up under her touch is the little push the girl needed to let her careful contact become a more eager petting just like she would do to any pokemon. It's enjoying it so there is no need to hold back, Kotori wouldn't harm it in any case.
The brunette girl's smile widens at Yuuna's request and she nods eagerly. Being able to help others makes her happy, small as it is. ]
[Renraku clicks again, moving it's head back and forth, nuzzling like any other Pokemon. The fact that it, unbeknownst to either of them, is a man-made life form doesn't seem to change the fact that it likes attention and companionship as much as any other Pokemon. Yuuna reaches down and scritches it's back too.]
I guess the first thing I'd like to know is if it has a gender, or a gender preference? I don't want to call it an it...that sounds a little derogatory.
no subject
Politoed nuzzles Kotori's hand happily.]
Polipoli!
[Maybe a little bit. Trainer's working with another Pokemon, and they come here often enough because of this one Jigglypuff that seems to enjoy trying to get the best of her.]

Eh? Your trainer comes often too?

[Yuuna sure can't seem to pick them out from the rest. Though, each and every one is scanned and recorded by the Porygon with an electronic ting!]
no subject
Well, Deery is mine.
[Once his name is said the Sawsbuck raises it's head and looks in their direction.]
Also Rally, Sewy and Leafy.
[One by one all the called pokemon reacted to their trainer's call. More information for the Porygon!]
no subject
That's quite a lot. And you're out here training too, huh?
[At least, that's presumably what she's up to.]
no subject
Not really, they just like to come with me to the Flower grove. I'm not much of a trainer to be honest.
[Sheepish laugh.]
I'm Kotori Minami by the way.
no subject
No? Just a picnicker then?
[Have a teasing smile, sweetie. And a rather intense look from Porygon. It’s scanning you now, little bird.]
I’m Yuuna Sugasawa. Nice to meet you, Kotori. Thanks for feeding my Politoed and keeping him entertained.
